Mandrake 8.1 on a Dell Latitude C610
So, first of all, I have installed Linux-Mandrake 8.2 on a Dell
Latitude C610 with the following Hardware :
Installation
There were no problem during installation.
I like the Mandrake distro and his spirit.
Thanks to Mandrake for their great work !
Xfree86
I use Xfree4.2.0
Graphic card
During Mandrake installation process, I select the ATI radeon graphic
card.
The screen resolution was chosen to 1024x768 with 24 bits.
Mouse
The touchpad works. But I have some problems to switch between touchpad
and external USB mouse.
If I disconnect and reconnect the USB mouse, it does not work anymore.
If you have a solution send me a e-mail .
Sound
It works, but not very good.
Ethernet card
It is a integrated 3com 10/100 Ethernet card (3Com 3c905C).
Automatically detected under Mandrake.
No problem.
Modem
It is a winmodem. Not detected under Mandrake.
Is there a driver for Linux ?
Any input would
be appreciated.
PCMCIA
Not tried.
IRDA
Not tried.
USB
It works (I have tried a mouse), but harddrake cannot detect this
device.
Miscellenious
Suspend to disk works without problem with Linux.
